The Lowdown On The 2008 Impreza

If you were thinking of investing in the usually reliable Subaru brand of cars, you may be in for a disappointment with the 2008 Impreza.  This is a small car that was released with unusually low reviews for its performance.  The power train is outdated and the style is not really one that will cause a stir in the crowd.  Although it will still be reliable in terms of its efficiency in fuel consumption and safety features, it doesn’t really have anything else going for it other than these.

One of the reasons why it’s not making a big impression on car lovers is that it failed to give the population some good engine options.  The car users of today have different needs from the people in the generations before, and Subaru has, unfortunately, not been able to match such needs with their engine choice.  Aside from the 2008 Impreza sports car, the company has also released an Impreza wagon and Impreza WRX, and it seems the WRX version is the only one which has made an impact in terms of its reliability in performance.

The main concern that the present American buyer has for the Impreza sports car is that its engine is not powerful enough to allow the car to speed up as fast as it should.  Its 2.5-liter aluminum alloy 16-valve boxer engine can only provide 170 horsepower, which is really not enough.

It takes 9.1seconds to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour, and such an acceleration speed would have been impressive if not for the fact that other cars with more powerful engines and cheaper price tags are now available with this same capability.  On the other hand, the 2008 Impreza WRX, with its 305 horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, can achieve the record speed of 0 to 60 mph in under 6.1 seconds.

Another model that also seems to provide better performance than the sports car is the Subaru Legacy.  Its 2.5-liter four-cylinder turbo-charged engine has a massive 243 horsepower and 241 pound of torque.  If you want a better version than the 2.5-liter boxer engine, you can get it in the 3.0-liter 6-cylinder one, which has 245 horsepower built in.

Despite these reservations, Subaru is still a good name in the sports racing world.  Its reliability and safety features still make it one of the preferred choices for racing among auto enthusiasts the world all over.

The amazing model, Subaru Tecnica International (STi) is manufactured by the Subaru Impreza WRX. This vehicle is so efficient that it can be used not just as a commuter car but also for street racing and even professional racing. A lot of its fans would also like to learn more about the parts of the Subaru STi.

The Engine of the Subaru STi

There are two things that make this Subaru STi stand out. First is because of its classic boxer engine and second, the six speed manual transmission. The classic boxer engine gives the driver more control due to its low center of gravity. It is designed in a way that makes the car a stable grip on the road while having a high speed.  The car is more balanced because the pistons in the engine lie flat and moves horizontally.

Although the engine is turbo charged, it is also very powerful and smooth. The Centered Differential

The centered differential will be controlled by the driver of the Subaru STi. It will allow the wheels to be able to do several things: For the wheels to move at various speeds.

  • To be able to manage the power amid the front and rear wheels.

This centered differential has anti lock brakes which stays unlocked when used. It is great that a racing car is capable to do this since it creates a fast speed and allows the car to brake quickly and stay stable.
